“Chinese Afro” Arts and Folklore festival kicks off Thursday
“Chinese Afro” Arts and Folklore festival will kick off Thursday at Mania Palace in Cairo, with the participation of 21 countries, Youm7 reported Tuesday.
The festival aims to deepen strategic relations between African countries and China through highlighting cultural and civilization heritage of the participating countries in the festival which will begin on July 26.
July 19: “Glass Onion” band to perform at Cairo Opera House
The Cairo Opera House will host a concert by the Egyptian Beatles tribute band “Glass Onion” musical band Tuesday at 8 p.m.
The concert will be held at the Open Air Theatre.
Marina fin whale re-appears
A fin whale that has been spotted two weeks ago in Marina town, north coast, re-appeared for 10 minutes and then disappeared again, Mohamed Essawi, general director of northern region reserves, told Youm7.
Essawi added that this is an indication that the whale is swimming in an area of appropriate depth and abundant food.
He repeated his warnings to citizens against harming or disturbing the whale if spotted near shores.
July 21: “Solo” rock band gives concert at Alexandria Center of Arts
Alexandria Center of Arts will host a concert by the rock band “Solo” on Thursday, July 21, according to De Cairo website.
The concert will be held at 7 p.m. through 10 p.m. with free entrance.
Alexandria Center of Arts is located at Horreya St. in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
Egypt ranks 35th for Shark attacks
Egypt is placed at the tail of global list of countries with shark attacks, ranking the 35th, said Azza el-Ganainy, a member of the National Institute of Oceanography, told Youm7.
