Thanaweya Amma student shot herself dead, another set himself on fire over failure of passing final exams in Upper Egypt
A Thanaweya Amma (high school diploma) female student shot herself dead after her brother Jokingly claimed that she failed in final exams of Thanaweya Amma in Upper Egypt’s Asyut, Youm7 reported Monday.
Meanwhile, a 18-year-old suffers 100 percent burns after he set himself on fire he failed in final exams of Thanaweya Amma (high school diploma) in Upper Egypt’s Sohag, Youm7 reported Saturday.
Education Minister Hilali al Sherbiniy on Sunday approved the results of final year exams for secondary students (Thanaweya Amma,) at a success rate of 75.7 percent compared to 79.4 percent last year.
385 road accidents reported in Suez over June
A total of 385 road accidents took place along the highways of Suez governorate over June, Youm7 cited to a report issued by the Suez Ambulance Administration Monday/
Thousands of Egyptians die on the road every year due to traffic accidents. Egypt recorded 14,548 traffic accidents in 2015, a one percent increase compared to 2014, according to a statement by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS.)
The country is among the 10 states enrolled in a UN program that aims to half the rate of road deaths by 2020. Since 2014, Egypt launched a number of projects and campaigns to monitor road safety; including building new roads, maintaining dilapidated bridges and carrying out random drug tests on drivers.
Number of work injury cases in Egypt declined by 5.9%: CAPMAS
The total number of work injury cases reached 15,911 in 2015, comparing to 16,902 cases in 2014, a decrease by 5.9 percent, according to annual bulletin of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Monday.
Cairo sees hot weather of 37°C Monday.
Forecasters expected a hot and humid weather to prevail Monday in Cairo and Lower Egypt, where the capital will see highs of 37°C and lows of 25°C.
The temperature will be typically higher in southern Upper Egypt, especially during the day. Luxor and Aswan will see highs of 40°C and 41°C respectively on Monday.
Minister of Transport forms committee to prepare a report on Egypt’s railway workshops
Egyptian Minister of Transport Galal Said has formed a committee to prepare a report on Egypt’s railway workshops nationwide for maintenance , Youm7 reported Sunday evening.
The Egyptian National Railways (ENR) has selected the Delta town of Abu Za’bal in Qalyubia to build the first factory to manufacture the carriages locally, saving foreign exchange used to import railway equipment, ENR chief Ahmed Hamed told Youm7 in April 2015.
