The Egyptian Olympic Committee has officially excluded the World Javelin silver medalist, Egyptian Ihab Abdel Rahman, from next months’ Rio Olympics after testing positive to drugs.

 

Egypt’s Abeer Abdel Rahman wins 2012 Olympics medal after 3 disqualified

The International Olympic Committee, in coordination with the International Weightlifting Federation, announced that the Egyptian Abeer Abdel Rahman has received the silver medal for weightlifting in 2012 London Olympics, according to Filgoal website.

The announcement came after the committee decided to withdraw the gold, silver and bronze medals from three players from Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus over doping.

The decision makes Abdel Rahman the first Egyptian female athlete to win a medal in Olympics.
