2 Japanese cities to host exhibition of replicas of Tutankhamen artifacts

The Ministry of Antiquities will organize an exhibition for 150 replicas of King Tutankhamen artifacts in Japan, per a cooperation protocol between both countries, Youm7 reported Thursday.

It is scheduled that the exhibition will held for 18 days in Tokyo and Osaka city in the period between October to December 2016.


Egypt’s inbound tourism rate drops by 59.9% in June 2016: CAPMAS

The number of tourists visiting Egypt in June 2016 decreased by 59.9 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS,) Egypt’s official statistical agency.

In its monthly report for tourism statistics issued Thursday, CAPMAS indicated that 328,600 tourists visited Egypt in June 2016, compared to 820,000 in the same period last year “due to the ongoing decline in the number of Russian tourists.”


Ministry of Antiquities waiting to put Qasr al-Nile four lion statues on archeological list

Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities stated that it did not receive a request to list the four famous large stone lion statues at Qasr al-Nile Bridge as archeological monuments, Youm7 reported Thursday.

The Permanent Committee of Islamic and Coptic Antiquities issued in May a decision to put the four statues on the Ministry’s Archeological List. They were establshied during the era of Khedive  Ismail Pasha in the period between 1896 and 1871.


Health Ministry launches family planning campaigns in 14 governorates

Egyptian Ministry of Health has launched campaign for family planning in the 16 governorates nationwide, starting from July 31 to August 4, Youm7 reported.

The campaign aims to enhance full public awareness about the family and best services for women.


Marcel Khalife opens 14th International Summer Festival in Alexandria
