Egypt to offer tender for Japanese companies to construct 1st phase of Cairo Metro’s 4th line
The National Authority For Tunnels will offer an international tender for Japanese companies to construct the first phase of the Cairo Metro’s fourth line which will extend to Giza’s Haram district soon, as a way to alleviate the traffic jam there, Youm7 reported.
Egypt and Japan have signed an agreement, per which Japan will carry out the first phase at a value of $1.2 billion in soft loans.
Local Development Ministry Headquarters to be transported from Giza to New Cairo
The headquarters of Ministry of Local Development will be transported from Giza to New Cairo’s Fifth Settlement at a cost of 295 million EGP, Youm7 reported an anonymous official in the ministry Wednesday.
Dozens of employees at the ministry have protested against transporting the headquarters as it will locate so far from their houses amid the ministry’s inability to burden the costs of their transportation to the new building.
Faisal Bridge to be partially closed for maintenance works
Egypt’s General Administration of Traffic has decided to partially close Giza’s bridge of Faisal for a whole month to start Thursday for maintenance works, Youm7 reported Wednesday.
The maintenance works came in light of the governorate’s efforts to develop the network of roads and bridges.
PM chairs weekly meeting to talk governmental projects
Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail will chair Wednesday a cabinet meeting to discuss certain projects and governmental issues, Youm7 cited a statement from the Cabinet.
The ministerial meeting came a day after Ismail’s meeting with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi who was updated on the government’s latest efforts to provide the people the subsidized commodities to control the market’s high price, according to a statement from Presidential office Tuesday.
Hot weather to prevail throughout Egypt on Wednesday
Hot weather is to prevail Tuesday in Cairo and Lower Egypt, where the capital will see highs of 37°C, according to a statement from the Egyptian Meteorological Authority.
Moderate weather is expected along the north coast, with highs of 32 degrees in Alexandria, while the Upper Egyptian governorates will see warmer weather with 41 degrees in Qena and Luxor, and 42 in Aswan.
