Arsenal’s Ahmed Al Mohamedy called up for Pharaohs camp ahead of Guinea friendly
Nine Egyptian foreign-based footballers have been reportedly called up by the national team manager Hector Cuper to participate in a camp ahead of the Pharaohs’ friendly matches against Guinea and South Africa, according to Yallakora.
The squad will feature Hull City winger Ahmed Elmohamady after more than a year of absence. The camp is set to start August 26.
The squad also features Roma’s Mohamed Salah, Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny among others.
The Pharaohs will face Guinea on August 30 and South Africa on September 6 ahead of the CAF World Cup qualifiers, scheduled to start in October.
Dutch embassy in Cairo has not urged Al Ahly coach to leave: agent
The agent of Al Ahly coach Martin Jol denied media reports that the Dutch embassy in Cairo has advised the 60-year-old manager to leave Egypt over security concerns following the Tuesday’s riots took place at the club headquarters in madinet Nasr, Youm7 reported.
“Jol understands the anger of the fans and is committed to go forward in his mission with the Red Devils,” Jol’s agent Mohamed Al Shabrawy said in a phone call aired at Sada el Balad T.V. channel on Tuesday.

Al Ahly director of football resigns
Al Ahly veteran footballer Abdel Aziz Abdel Shafy “Zizo” has resigned as the director of the Al Ahly’s football sector on Tuesday, according to Kingfut.
“I’d like to offer my apology to all of Al Ahly’s fans and members for being unable to continue in serving our big club due to the unclear signs of my role as the director of football, which makes my experience and knowledge have no real value. Continuing in my job won’t be beneficial to the club, whatever the personal pressure I manage to bear, Zizo was quoted as saying in a statement released by Kingfut on Tuesday.
Zizo was appointed the director of the football after the appointment of Jose Peseiro as the club’s manager. He also served as Al Ahly caretaker after the resignation of Peseiro from his job.
