3 dead in bus accident on Ring Road

Three people were killed and three others injured after a tourist bus hit them on the Ring Road in Giza’s Warraq district, Youm7 reported.

The bus driver escaped the scene immediately, and checkpoints on the road have been notified to arrest him.

The injured were transferred to the hospital for treatment; their condition has not been determined yet.


Giza Zoo welcomes newborns of Kudus, deer

Giza Zoo welcomes two newborns of Kudus, scimitar oryx and three baby deer, Youm7 reported.

The zoo said that visitors can see the newborn animals during Eid el-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice,) as well as visit cages of baby ostriches and peacocks.


Cairo sees hot weather of 35°C Saturday

Weather forecasters expected a hot weather to prevail in Cairo Saturday, with the temperature reaching highs of 35°C and lows of 25°C.


49% of divorces due to husbands exploiting wives’ salaries

A report by a family court revealed that 49 percent of marital disputes mentioned in divorce cases were over the wives’ salaries, Youm7 reported.

Some 53 percent of the wives said in their divorce lawsuits that their husbands’ main motive to marry them was to exploit their salaries.

The cases also showed that 20 percent of the women have not exceeded two years in their marriage, while 16 percent did not exceed a year.


New agricultural, water projects to be opened in Halayeb, Shalateen Triangle

Minister of Higher Education Ashraf el-Shehy announced opening research projects in Halayeb and Shalateen triangle, south Egypt, Youm7 reported.

The projects include one to develop a comprehensive farm, another aims to manufacture small mobile devices to produce snow depending on solar energy and a third one meant to desalinate groundwater.
