Civil Aviation may be questioned over late deliver of Passenger Hall 2

Member of Parliament Mohamed Ismail, member of the Housing Committee, submitted a request to the parliament to question Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathy for not delivering the Passenger Hall 2 at Cairo Airport one year and a half after the deadline, Youm7 reported Sunday.

Parliamentary Agriculture Committee files memo against minister for failing to appear at meetings

The Agriculture Committee filed a memo to Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal against the Agriculture Minister and a number of the ministry’s representatives for not attending the committee’s meetings despite being summoned several times, Youm7 reported Sunday.

Journalist Amr Badr ordered release on  bail

A Cairo criminal court ordered Sunday the release of Journalist Amr Badr on a 5,000 EGP bail; he was arrested along with another colleague in a police raid in May.

Badr has appealed a decision to renew his detention by 15 days.

Badr and his colleague Mahmoud el-Saqqa are facing a list of charges including: attempt to overthrow the regime and inciting violence by calling for the anti-government protests that took to the streets April 25 against the transfer of the sovereignty of two Red Sea islands into the Saudi waters.

 

Activists share pictures of released Lawyer Malek Adly

Activists on social media have shared a number of pictures for Rights Lawyer Malek Adly after his release from police station, following a three-month detention.

Adly was ordered released by a court Saturday after the prosecution appealed an initial order to release him.

He was arrested in May for “inciting protests” that went rampant in the country against the transfer of the Red Sea islands Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia.

 

FM, Slovakian counterpart discuss Egypt-EU cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry will meet Sunday with his Slovakian counterpart Miroslav Lajcak to discuss boosting Egypt’s cooperation with the European, MENA agency reported.

The meeting is also set to tackle other Middle East issues including: developments in Syria, Libya, Yemen and the peace process in the region besides the migrants’ crisis.

Lajcak is nominated for the position of UN Secretary General; his visit to Egypt is the second within the past five months.

Parliament drafting law to exempt expatriates of customs procedures

A parliamentary sub-committee announced preparing draft law to exempt Egyptian expatriates of customs procedures, Youm7 reported.

 

MP calls for fact-finding committee to probe fake, smuggled drugs

Member of Parliament Magdy Morshid said that the committee has requested the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate stores that contain fake and smuggled drugs, Youm7 reported.

 

Parliament to discuss crisis of high sugar price

Member of Parliament Raef Temraz said that the agricultural sub-committee will hold a Sunday meeting to discuss a crisis of high sugar price.
