2 Gulf nationals, policeman investigated over human trafficking charges

Two Gulf nationals have been ordered detained for four days pending investigations over charges of human trafficking by selling Indonesian maids, Youm7 reported.

The prosecution accused the two nationals of bringing Indonesian women from Jordan and entering them illegally to Egypt, to be sold as maids to wealthy people.

Investigations showed that the two Gulf nationals have formed a gang with Egyptians, and were assisted by a policeman at Cairo Airport who facilitated their entrance to the country.

 

Flight landed safely in Alexandria after attempted storming to cockpit

A flight reportedly landed safely at Borg el-Arab Airport in Alexandria Friday after a passenger tried to forcibly enter the cockpit, Youm7 reported.

The crew of Air Cairo plane ensured the passenger did not have a weapon or any tool that would endanger the safety of the passengers.

The assaulting passenger was arrested and investigated over the incident.

The flight was heading from Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh to Borg el-Arab, and was carrying 150 passengers.

 

Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia to sign Renaissance dam studies Monday

Irrigation Ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia are set to sign Renaissance dam studies on Monday, Youm7 reported.

The officials decided to hold a meeting for the national technical committee of the dam Monday and Tuesday in Khartoum city, Sudan.

They are supposed to sign a deal of the advisory bureau that will study the negative impacts of the dam on Egypt and Sudan.

 

New smart card gates to be installed at metro in Jan. 2017

Egyptian Metro Company announced that the new magnetic smart card gates will be installed in January 2017, Youm7 reported.

The company has signed a contract to import 850 new smart card gates from the French group Thales in order to replace the old ones on both the first and the second metro lines.
