MPs praise Sisi’s pardoning of prisoners as kind gest

A number of parliamentarians have praised President Sisi’s decision to pardon 700 prisoners on occasion of Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) as a kind gest.

A total of 700 prisoners, whom were recently pardoned per a presidential decree, walked out of jail to spend Eid al Adha festivals with their families nationwide Monday.

Those eligible for pardon must not have “dangerous to public safety,” according to the decision.

Egyptian presidents have traditionally pardoned groups of prisoners on national and religious holidays.

 

MP warns of another flooding crisis in winter

Member of Parliament Mohamed Saad has warned of a repeated flooding crisis in Delta’s Beheira governorate similar to that occurred last year, Youm7 reported.

Saad said that maintenance of sanitation networks and water pumps should be carried out to avoid similar catastrophe.

Many rain-related deaths took place last year as water accumulated streets and swept into homes.

 

Egypt to discuss tourism boosting with 54 African states’ representatives

Member of Parliament May Mahmoud said that a committee concerned with African affairs will discuss supporting Egypt’s tourism with representatives from 54 African states.

Mahmoud added that the committee will utilize the presence of the representatives in Sharm el-Sheikh in October to discuss opportunities to boost tourism industry in Egypt.
