Egypt’s Ministry of Supply to establish series of hypermarkets nationwide

Egyptian Ministry of Supply is considering a proposal to establish a series of hyper-markets nationwide, to meet the citizens’ needs of basic goods and to alleviate some basic food shortage crisis. Egypt suffers shortage in sugar, rice.

The Ministry coordinate with the Internal Trade Development Authority (ITDA) to implement the project, announced Minister of Supply Mohamed Ali Meslhy on Thursday.


4 Sudanese people detained pending probes over killing a fellow

Four Sudanese people were detained for four days pending investigations over killing their fellow after a quarrel erupted between them on a mobile phone in 6th October city, Youm7 reported on Thursday.

According to the initial investigations, one of the accused people smashed the killed person’s head with a machete; the detained people confessed their crime.


Mild weather to prevail in northern cities of Egypt Friday

Egyptian Meteorological experts expected that a mild weather will prevail on the northern cities, turning hot on Cairo and Upper Egypt governorates on Friday, Youm7 reported a statement from the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).


Low clouds appear over the northern areas, and gather on the coastal cities with possibility of rainfall. Meanwhile, wind turn active in Suez Gulf of the Red Sea and could cause disturbance in maritime navigation.


Egypt thwarts attempt of illegal migration to Libya

Egyptian border guards arrested on a total of 60 unregistered migrants, including nine Sudanese, along Sallum road before entering into the Libyan territories, Youm7 reported on Thursday.

The military has previously announced arresting hundreds of people over illegal immigration at Egypt’s different borders, which have witnessed heightened security measures to curb the illegal practice.
