Another group of 100 detained youth to be pardoned: official

The second group of the Egyptian detained youth who will be released per a presidential pardon will be announced soon, Youm7 reported an anonymous security official on Sunday.

The second group includes names of 100 detained persons, mostly from youth, the official added.

A total of 82 detained youth were released on Wednesday per the pardon decree issued by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. The released youth includes T.V. anchorman Islam El Beheiri, who serves one-year prison sentence over charges of insulting religion.

Most f youth released were academic students who were arrested over breaching the protest law. Government has formed a committee to examine the youth inmates’ legal situations before their release.

A total of 203 prisoners would be released per a presidential pardon on the occasion of the October War Victory, after Prison Sector Committee reviewed the prisoners’ conditions, Youm7 reported on Thursday. Only 94 inmates will be released under certain conditions.


Three pro-Morsi T.V. anchors sentenced to three years in jail

An Egyptian court sentenced three pro-former President Mohamed Morsi T.V. anchorpersons to three year in jail on Saturday over charges of inciting violence and disturbing the public order, Youm7 reported.

The three verdicts charged with publishing false news inciting violence in Egypt in their talk shows that aired in Turkey.

Following the dispersal of the pro-Muslim brotherhood sit-ins in Rabaa and Nahdah squares on Aug.14, 2013, hundreds of the Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters fled to foreign countries, including Turkey, Qatar, and London.


Sisi heads to Portugal in a 2-day visit

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi headed to Portugal on Monday in a two-day to discuss the bilateral relations with his counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa who took assume of power since March 2016, Youom7 reported.

“President Sisi’s visit to Portugal will come as part of the two countries’ keenness on enhancing bilateral ties in the coming period.  During the visit, President Sisi will also tackle ways of promoting political and diplomatic ties along with promoting cooperation in economy, scientific research and defense spheres,” a statement on the State Information Service.


Parliamentary delegation flies to India

A delegation from the Egyptian House of Representatives will pay a visit to India Sunday to participate in an international conference on small and medium sized enterprises for three days, Youm7 reported.

The delegation’s visit is being organized by the Federation of the Egyptian Industries (FEI), delegation member Hala Abu Seeda told Youm7, noting that the conference will include a session on the Egyptian industries.
