Director Ahmed Abdallah attends the world premiere of his film Rags and Tatters in Toronto International Film Festival. Held in Canada, The film will participate in World Cinema Section in Toronto International Film Festival from September 5th to September 15th, 2013.
Rags and Tatters is Ahmed Abdallah’s third directorial effort to be selected in the festival.
Rags and Tatters Directed and written by Ahmed Abdallah, unfolds a new experience in Egyptian cinema as the story builds up with minimal dialogue between the characters based on visual narration within a balanced equation of documentation and narration.
The film tells the story of a prison inmate who escapes from jail during the revolution of January 25th, 2011, when police forces were withdrawn from the streets and chaos prevailed.
Rags and Tatters stars Aser Yassin, Amr Abed & Yara Gobran, produced by Mohamed Hefzy’s Film Clinic in co-production with Mashroua.
