Representatives from Congress recorded a video in support of the military ouster of Mohamed Morsi, and pledged US support for Egypt’s interim government

Three representatives from the US Congress praised the ouster of Mohamed Morsi in a video message posted on YouTube on Saturday, linking the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) to the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Representatives Michele Bachmann, Steve King and Louie Gohmert, recorded their message in Cairo following a meeting with General Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and other prominent leaders.

Congresswoman Bachmann, representing Minnesota’s 6th congressional district, described what happened in Egypt as a “new hope” and said that Egyptians can look forward to a “better future” after the ouster of the president Mohammed Morsi.

Bachmann said she witnessed the threat of the MB faced by Egyptians, and said that she remembers “September 11 and who caused it.”

She stated that Egypt and the United States are dealing with a common enemy, terrorism, and that the US would “continue to support Egypt in every way possible.”

Steve King, U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 4th congressional district, who has served in Congress since 2003, said they had “outstanding meetings” with interim president Adly Mansour, with General Abdel Fatah El-Sissi and with the pope of the Coptic Church.

King congratulated the people of Egypt for “wining back the country from the former regime” and “standing up for liberty and freedom.”

King also encouraged the current government to commit to its time-table, adding that a stable future in Egypt would benefit the whole world.

Louie Gohmert, U.S. Representative from Texas’s First Congressional District, described being in Egypt as a “wonderful” experience, and accused the MB of trying to “destabilize” Egypt, and he noted the assassination attempt against the minister of interior earlier in the week.

“The people of Egypt rose up to declare, in historical numbers, that they do not want radicals to rule their country,” he said.

Michele Bachmann said she wanted Egyptians to know that they have strong voices in the congress “supporting their goal of defeating terrorism and living in peace. “

“The American people watched millions of Egyptians demonstrating against the MB on June 30th and July 3” she added.

You need a paragraph to round this story out

In general, this article contained a lot of redundancies, and I think that I found 3 references to Egypt’s terrorism problem.
