Tigers boss backs Gedo to shine in premier league

Tigers boss Steve Bruce snapped up Egyptian football player Mohammed Nagy Gedo of Al-Ahly just minutes before the transfer window slammed shut six days ago.

City Hall is ready to sign him for £1.8m if he proves to be a success.

Gedo impressed Bruce by scoring five goals and playing a key role in helping the Tigers seal their promotion to the elite Premier League last season.

The Egyptian started well with City after joining on loan last season but faded towards the close of the season, but Bruce said “Gedo has what it takes to shine in the Premier League.”

“This boy has got class. He is an international who has scored 17 goals in 33 games for his country, so we know all about his quality,” Bruce added.

“We needed somebody to come in and give us some extra firepower and Gedo provided that when he joined us on loan for the first time last season.

“He can do that again and be a big player for us this time around,” he said, adding “Gedo will be able to cope with the Premier League ; he just oozes class.”
