Haider Al-Mullah, the leader of the Iraqi Front for National Dialogue, demanded Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarifto
.apologize to Baghdad for “intervention in internal affairs” in a statement released on Monday
Mullah stated that the Iranian FM’s visit to Iraq came was a “clear interference” in Iraqi affairs, at a time “we care to build best relationships with other Arab and non- Arab countries.”
He said the latest “interference” was a decision allegedly taken by Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Qassem Silmany to attack American interests in Iraq in case of a military strike against Syria, and he asked for an apology from the Foreign Minister.
Zarif and his accompanying delegation arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for an official visit to Iraq where he met with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and a number of officials and some of religious officials in Najaf and discussed the political developments in Iraq as well as the Syrian crisis.
