Security forces seize drugs, weapons near Libya border

Egyptian security forces on Monday seized weapons and drugs near Salloum crossing between Egypt and Libya, Palestinian Ma’an news agency reported quoting security sources.

Security officers seized 11 hunting rifles, four machine guns and 50 kilos of Hashish from smugglers near the border, security officials said.

Meanwhile, security forces stopped two vehicles and found large quantities of the prescription drug Tramadol near the Red Sea resort Marsa Alam, security officials said.

Forces also seized large quantities of Hashish from two men at a checkpoint in the Ahmad Hamdi tunnel under the Suez Canal which connects the Sinai Peninsula to Suez city.
