CAIRO: Cabinet spokesperson Ambassador Hani Salah said Thursday that Jordan’s ambassador to Egypt, Bishr Al-Khasawneh, has praised Egyptian efforts to execute the political roadmap issued last July.
The ambassador also expressed his appreciation to the 50-member committee for amending a new draft constitution, adding that the upcoming referendum will reflect the confidence of the Egyptian people in the ability of their country to restore stability, Salah said.
His statements came during a meeting with Egypt Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy about ways to enhance ties between both countries.
The ambassador and prime minister also discussed recent developments in relations between Egypt and Jordan in fields including the cooperation of their chambers of commerce and industry, Salah said.
Khasawneh expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries will resume in the fields of pharmaceutical industries, land and sea transport, Salah said.
Salah added that the Jordanian ambassador expressed his country’s support for the Egyptian government and the will of the Egyptian people, stressing the importance of Egypt’s role as a leader in the Arab world.
