CAIRO: The General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO) printed a million copies of the 2013 draft constitution which will be available at newspaper vendors on Friday for 2 EGP each, the organization announced in a Thursday statement.
The GEBO said this print order was taken after a decision by the Minister of Culture Mohamed Saber Arab, GEBO Head Ahmed Megahed and the official spokesperson of the 50-member committee Mohamed Salmawy.
Megahed said it is important for every citizen to read the constitution and understand it well before voting in the upcoming referendum.
He added that reading the constitution and participating in the referendum is a national duty.
“I, as an ordinary citizen not as the head of the book organization, will vote yes on this constitution and I consider it the most Egyptian constitution that keeps freedom and democracy, approving it is the first real step to achieving the roadmap.”
