It is the first time in four years the Anfield club has received the accolade, recognition of a flawless start to the new Premier League campaign.
Brendan Rodgers and Daniel Sturridge have been named the Premier League manager and player of the month for August.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League following a fine start to the season in which they have recorded three 1-0 victories at home to Manchester United and Stoke and away to Aston Villa.
It took classy finishes from Sturridge and an organiseddefence to inspire that victory and is the first time the forward’s form has led to him winning the award.
After joining Liverpool from Chelsea last January Sturridge scored 10 goals in 14 top-flight appearances and the England international started the new campaign
Liverpool’s two victories earned Rodgers his award for a second time in his managerial career, the first coming when he was in charge of Swansea City in January 2012.
The Northern Irishman is hoping to maintain his side’s perfect start to the campaign with a fourth Barclays Premier League victory out of four against the Swans on Monday night.
The last Liverpool manager to win the trophy – sponsored by Barclays – was RafaBenítez in March 2009.
