Metro stations in Cairo are implementing strict security measures on Sunday in order to prevent overcrowding due to planned Muslim Brotherhood (MB) demonstrations, said transportation officials.

Head of the Egyptian Company for the Management and Operation of the Metro Abd Allah Fawzy said “the authorities will not allow any lawlessness, and will not let anyone ride the subway for all the day,” which he said  would threaten the safety of the passengers.

Early Sunday morning, subway trains were operating normally, and many stations were playing patriotic songs during the hours the MB had called for sit-ins.
