Interim president Adly Mansour discussed the security situation as well as political roadmap with various political party heads and prominent figures on Sunday at the presidential palace, his first such meeting since taking office, according to state-run agency MENA.
During the meeting, chief of the Salafist al-Nour party Younes Makhyoun said the transitional period must end as soon as possible to restore stability, and former presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi urged the presidency to establish commissions for social justice and youth, reported MENA.
In an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper, MB leaders said it was a “one-way meeting,” asking “what’s the expected result from a meeting between coup elements, without inviting coup opponents?”
Presidential media advisor Ahmed al-Meslemani is expected to meet on Monday with youth members of The National Salvation Front to discuss current political issues.
