Catherine Ashton to arrive in Cairo for family visit

CAIRO: Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the European Union, arrives to Cairo International Airport on Thursday in a visit with her family.

She is set to arrive on board the Egyptian plane coming from Oman, upon an invitation from the Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou, sources said.

The Head of Luxor International Airport Mahmoud al-Araby declared that Catherine Ashton will arrive in Luxor on Thursday evening with her husband and three of her sons to spend the New Year at the archeological landmarks in Luxor.

Araby added that it is scheduled that Ashton will leave Luxor next Sunday at noon. He pointed out that the airport has taken all the necessary measures for the visit.

He also welcomed the visit and considered it good advertisement for tourism and archeological sites in Luxor.
