Dr. Hamed Taher, a former vice president of Cairo University, announced on Monday his intention to run in the upcoming presidential elections.
In a statement to Youm7, he said he had an integrated plan for reforming various fields of the Egyptian life, and has the ability and experience that qualifies him to lead the country.
A graduate of Cairo University, he received a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Science in 1967, and a received a Master’s degree in Islamic Philosophy in 1973.
Taher has worked as an Islamic philosophy professor at the Faculty of Dar al-Uloom, Cairo University, and the American University of Cairo.
In his statement to Youm7, Taher said that he is currently working on a detailed electoral program to be announced at a later date.
