Former Gharbia Governor acquitted in case of escaping with Qandil to Sudan
Mohamed Ahmed al-Beli, Former Gharbia Governor

CAIRO: Al-Haram prosecution ordered the release of Mohamed Ahmed al-Beli, former Governor of Gharbia and Diaa el-Din Abdel Megeed, director of the coordination office of the councilors of the former president Mohamed Morsi.

However, National Security investigations revealed that Beli and Abdel Megeed are also wanted in the al-Fath Mosque and Damietta cases.

They denied any attempts of escaping to Aswan, then to Sudan and Turkey, with the former Prime Minister Hesham Qandil. Beli said that they were arrested in Al-Remaya Square in Giza while they were on their way to Fayoum to receive treatment and hide until the situation gets calm.
