CAIRO: The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) began their “Know your constitution” campaign Monday, which seeks to encourage citizens to participate in the forthcoming constitutional referendum.

EOHR head Hafez Abu Seada said the constitution is the most important social contract between the people and the state, as it includes the bases of ruling and regulates the relationship between the citizen and the political regime.

Abu Seada also said the constitution determines the rights of citizens and their duties as well as regulates the power of the legislative, executive and judicial authorities.

Abu Seada said the more balance of power between authorities the constitution achieves, the more it can establish a democratic regime.
