Minister of Planning Ashraf al-Araby - YOUM7/Sami Waheeb

CAIRO: Minister of Planning Ashraf al-Araby told Youm7 Wednesday that the application of the minimum wage on the private sector would be announced within days.

Araby said that the minimum wage for private sector is set at 700 EGP, adding that 18 million citizens working in the private sector would benefit from this decision.

The minister attributed the delay of announcing the application of the minimum wage for private sector employees officially to obstacles and conflicting viewpoint that arose during the successive meetings between the National Council of Wages, the labor unions, businessmen, and the private sector.
