Patrols, checkpoints, tribal cooperation mark Christmas in Qena

  CAIRO: The churches and archbishopric in Qena will be secured with a comprehensive plan during Christmas celebrations including fixed checkpoints adjacent to each church and regular patrols, according to the security directorate in Qena.

Some families and tribes in Qena, particularly the Al-Hawara tribe, have announced their participation in securing churches and Copt properties during Christmas celebrations, in coordination with the security agency, sources said.

A coalition of tribes and Copts in Qena will also man citizen checkpoints and guard churches.
