Bomb scare suspends metro for over an hour

Metro trains in Cairo were suspended Wednesday for more than hour and a half when two unidentified objects thought to be explosives were found on the tracks, said Abdul Allah Fawzy, chairman of the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operations .

After passengers reported suspicious bags on the tracks, police and bomb experts discovered they were bags of sand connected by circuits , Fowzy told Youm7.

Egypt has seen an increase in such incidents since the end of June; the Suez-Ismailia railways faced a similar scare on Sept. 7.
