Pensioners demand higher benefits

CAIRO: The Pensioners Union asked the transitional government to raise their benefits to 960EGP ($139) in a Saturday statement.

In their statement, the union said that although the government declared a workers’ minimum wage of 1,200 EGP, it ignored the needs of pensioners.

The union said in the “absence of social justice… [the government must] take care of pensioners’ outrage.”
