CAIRO: 246 flights will transport 67,000 Egyptian Muslims to Saudi Arabia for haj, or pilgrimage, starting Saturday, announced Hussein Al-Sherief, the chairman of the Commercial Sector at Egypt Air.

Sherief said every passenger is allowed to carry two bags up to 23 kg, and a bottle of zamzam, or holy water. He added, “A SIM card will be delivered to each pilgrim to contact their families, as well as free meals and hot drinks before heading to Mount Arafat.”

Medics and doctors have also finished preparations to serve pilgrims under the supervision of the health ministry, said Executive Chief of the Egyptian Pilgrimage Mission Gen. Mostafa Bedeir.
