CAIRO: Exports of natural gas and its derivatives declined over November 2013 by 45.87 percent to $122 million compared to $225.4 million in November 2012, according to a Thursday report by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center.
During November 2013, natural gas declined by 6.8 percent registering 3.302 million tons in comparison to 3.319 million tons during the same period last year, the IDSC said.
Domestic consumption of natural gas over November 2013 also declined by 3 percent hitting 2.978 million tons compared to 2.070 million tons over the same period last year.
There was a reduction of natural gas consumption in the energy sector by 0.1% registering 56% compared to 56.1 in the same period last year, according to the report.
For crude oil and petroleum products, exports declined by 1.2 percent in November 2013 registering $473 million in comparison to $478.6 million in the same period last year.
The IDSC’s report noted a 1.5 percent reduction in crude oil and butane production in November 2013 registering 2.8 million tons compared to 2.9 million tons in November 2012.
