CAIRO: The funeral of Major General Nabil Farag, killed Thursday in Kerdasa, started Friday afternoon at Al- Rashdan Mosque in Nasr City, led by Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy, Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, and Lieutenant General Sedky Sobhy, the commander-in-chief.
Attendees of the funeral yelled, “The people want to execute the Brotherhood.’’
Security forces closed all entrances leading to Al- Rashdan Mosque, where the funeral began after Friday noon prayers. Military aircrafts also monitored the procession.
Farag’s son Omar prayed at the mosque in the presence of former Mufti Ali Gomaa, the Minister of State for Sports Taher Abu Zeid, the Minister of Interior Major General Mohammed Ibrahim, the former minister Major General Mansour Essawy, Cairo governor and the other state leaders.
