CAIRO: The Agouza Misdemeanor Court extended the detention of two employees of Al Jazeera Mubasher Misr TV channel for 15 more days pending investigation on September 21.

The detainees were interrogated for four days following an order by Attorney General Hesham Barakat on Monday September 16, according to a previous statement by the Attorney General’s office.

Both media workers are charged with broadcasting and filming audio and visual materials without obtaining a license from Ministry of Culture, as well as operating unlicensed wireless communication equipments. The police have also revealed that one of them is Palestinian.
