Cinema club at Jesuit shows Faust

CAIRO: The Cinema Club at the Nahda Culture and Scientific Renaissance Association will screen “Faust” by Russian director Alexander Sokurov on Saturday, September 21, at 6 pm.

The film, set in the 19th century, is based on the interpretation of the German legend of a man who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, a German writer and politician.

The association is dedicated to promoting arts and the right to be educated through cinema, writing, theater, music and photography through free workshops organized throughout the year.
