CAIRO: The Egyptian-French Business Council held its first meeting since its structural revision on Sunday. It was lead by Minister of Industry Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, who welcomed the new council president, Mahmoud Younis.
Discussion points included the council’s action plan for the coming period, ways to support Egyptian-French commercial relations, and the state of French investments in Egypt.
French investment totals nearly 4.3 billion euro and provides around 40 thousand job opportunities.
The trade exchange volume between the two countries reaches around 3 billion euro. Of this, around 1.8 billion euro is comprised of imports from France, while exports to France grossed 1.2 billion euro.
