Man detained for ‘possessing Al-Qaeda flag’

MARSA ALAM, Egypt:The Hurghada prosecution has detained a man accused of possessing an al-Qaeda flag and leaflets inciting violence to 15 days of prison pending investigations.

The Marsa Alam police arrested the suspect Saturday, Sept. 21, after authorities received information indicating that someone was raising al-Qaeda flag in a balcony.

The suspect also allegedly had a computer containing folders related to al-Qaeda and other extremist groups, in addition to documents inciting attacks on police, as well as army officers, according to the police report.
