CAIRO: The Dutch Foreign Ministry decided on Saturday to partially lift the travel ban to Egypt, allowing its tourists to travel to regions in Red Sea area.
The Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders also decided on Saturday to allow travel to Egypt’s Red Sea area, the Gulf of Aqaba.
These decisions follow weeks of campaigning by the tourism ministry, Egyptian touristic offices abroad, and the Egyptian foreign ministry.
The Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou also met with the British and German Ambassadors in Cairo on Saturday to discuss their countries’ travel bans to Egypt.
Zaazou said on Saturday that he expects a gradual return of tourism to Egypt in the final quarter of 2013.
