CAIRO: Security forces detained spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood, Gehad el-Haddad, at an apartment in Nasr City on Tuesday, along with Mahmoud Abu-Zaid, a member of the Guidance office, and Mohamed Diab, a former member of parliament.
Security sources told Youm7 that they found leaflets and files related to the Brotherhood but have not found any weapons. They added that the detainees were taken into custody without resistance, and are awaiting investigation.
The three suspects are accused of inciting acts of violence and publishing fabricated statements that threatened the national security.
El-Haddad’s detention is the latest of a wave of arrests of Muslim Brotherhood members since July 3, when former President Mohamed Morsi was ousted by the military.
