Indian art and dance at handicraft festival

CAIRO: The Indian Embassy in Egypt will participate in a handicrafts festival called Men Fat Ademo Taah, or ‘he who forgets his past will be lost,’ in Beit al-Senary cultural center starting Monday 23.

The handicraft festival, which will last for a week, will be inaugurated by the lndian ambassador, and feature an Indian dance crew who will perform a traditional Bollywood dance followed by a fashion show and a performance by Indian dancer Sangita. Additionally, there will be an exhibition for authentic Indian handicrafts, as well as a workshop for Indian henna tattoos and a workshop to teach Bollywood dance.

The festival will also host Cairo Darawish for Tanoura Dancing, a crew performing the traditional Sufi folk dance of twirling in large, colorful skirts.
