CAIRO: An Egyptian suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday, September 22, during an EgyptAir flight heading to New York City.

The plane’s pilot contacted Spanish authorities in order to allow him an emergency landing at the Madrid International Airport so they could try to revive the 60-year-old passenger, however, and despite the crew’s own efforts to revive him, he passed away on the plane, as reported by Youm7.

Upon the plane’s landing at JFK Airport in New York, the pilot notified the American authorities of the deceased passenger. Federal Police then seized the corpse in order to confirm the cause of death.
