Netanyahu says Rouhani’s speech was ‘cynical’

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s U.N. address was “cynical” and Tehran was taking time to develop its nuclear armament, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.

“It was a cynical speech full of hypocrisy,” Netanyahu said.

“It contained no practical suggestion on how to stop the Iranian nuclear program and no commitment to fulfill the U.N. Security Council resolutions. That is exactly what the Iranian plan is about, to talk and buy time in order to advance its capability to obtain nuclear weapons.”

Iran denies that it is trying to build nuclear weapons and says that its program is just for peaceful purposes.
