CAIRO: A group of Egyptian students at the Faculty of Engineering in Alexandria University have invented a device that converts solar cells to electrical power.
Ahmed Mostafa, one of the inventors, explained the device by saying, “The entire building will be fed with photoelectric cells, which will be converted into electrical energy.”
Moreover, the invention is divided to three steps, tracking mechanism of the solar power, charging built-in batteries and power conversion.
“All the electrical circuits we’ve used are manufactured by hand, while big companies would normally import these materials from China,” he added.
According to Mostafa, the purpose of the invention is to solve the fuel shortage crisis in Egypt which has caused continuous electricity cutoffs across the country.
