CAIRO: A letter from jailed founder of April 6 Youth Movement Ahmed Maher was published on his blog Sunday, where he said that the political equation in Egypt will remain dominated by the military and the Muslim Brotherhood for a long time.

Maher has been detained on charges of inciting violence and assaulting police officers since Dec. 3.

The Brotherhood is still resistant despite the “massacres” against them, and after years of repression and chaos there will be negotiations, Maher said, adding that civil forces will not be ready at this point in time, much like they were not in the wake of the January 25 Revolution.

Revolutionary and civil forces ally with the military or with the Brotherhood and have not been able to unite, but have rather accused one another of “treason” and fueled polarization, Maher wrote.

Maher accused all political forces in Egypt from the right to the left of being “fascist,” saying that all factions would exclude the rest once in power.

He said that in time, a new generation would learn from the mistakes of the revolutionaries and would create pluralism in politics.
