Student burns classroom

GHARBIA, Egypt: A student set fire to his classroom as a form of punishment to his colleagues and teachers, whom he claims teased and beat him due to him having a mental disorder.

A fifth-grade boy was arrested on Wednesday after the Kafr Suleiman School’s administration contacted the police upon discovering one of their classrooms ablaze.

The boy had broken into the school the night before and set fire to a few pieces of paper in his classroom, which lead to the whole room catching fire. He confessed his crime to the police, adding that he had wanted revenge on his teachers and fellow students who physically and verbally abuse him because he is mentally ill.
