CAIRO- The political arena will witness large-scale changes as political parties form electoral coalitions to ensure their participation in parliament.
Tarek al-Kholy, a member of the Revolutionary Powers Bloc,said in a statement to Youm7 on Thursday that the revolutionary youth will hold a number of meetings soon to discuss how to form an electoral coalition. He said they are discussing whether to join the electoral lists related to political parties or to form independent lists.
Mohammed Nabawy, member of the Central Committee of the Tamarod Movement, said to Youm7 on Thursday that it is too early to talk about parliamentary elections. He stressed that the movement is preoccupied with constitutional amendments and that it will run for the elections under the banner of Tamarod.
Hossam Fouda, leading member ofthe NationalSalvation Front, said the front’s youthwill form a revolutionary coalition to run for parliamentary elections. He added that the coalition will include young members of various blocs from different governorates.
Spokesman of the Revolution Route Front Mustafa Shawkysaid the revolutionary powers realize the need for unification so as to achieve the objectives of the revolution and to prevent any attempts of undermining said objectives.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held after the constitutional amendments discussed by the 50-Member Committee are concluded, according to the roadmap announced by the military on July 3.
