France lifts travel ban to Egypt

France: The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lifted the travel ban to Egypt and modified its travel guidelines on Thursday evening.

The decision to lift the travel ban comes in light of meetings held by Minister of Tourism HishamZaazouduring his current visit to Paris.

Zaazou met officials from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Crisis Management Center as well as senior staff in the tourism sector.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on its website that acts of violence have decreased since last August across Egypt, but did not disappear. They said the situation remains unstable and urged travelers to be cautious.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the French citizens who travel to Egypt and the citizens in Egypt to stay away from demonstrations and marches. It also urged them to be cautious at all times.
