CAIRO: Luxor African Film Festival administration announced it will dedicate an award on behalf of late the director Mohamed Ramadan, who was missing at St. Catherine and later found dead on Feb. 19.

Luxor African Film Festival cooperated with the Cinema Syndicate and decided to dedicate the Young Independent Filmmakers Panorama posthumously to Ramadan.

The prize will be awarded to the winners within the third part of the festival mid-March in the memory of Mohamed Ramadan.

Ramadan was one of the victims who got lost hiking in the mountains of St. Catherine in Sinai on Sunday. An unexpected blizzard hit the mountain and killed three other hikers.
Ramadan directed a movie ‘Hawas-Senses’ and he won many international prizes and the prize of Luxor African Film Festival in 2011.
