CAIRO: The Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt (BCFE) will participate in the first ever international call-to-action “Globe-athon: The Walk to End Women’s Cancers,” the foundation announced on Monday.

The Globe-athon is a coalition of more than 80 countries dedicated to unifying communities around the world to raise awareness, education and research on gynecological cancers.

“We will walk to increase public awareness about women’s cancers. Bring your family and friends, wear your comfortable shoes and join us. Walk with us, and support women with cancer,” the foundation said in a statement.

The event will take place in the Gezira Equestrian Club on September 28 from 4 to 9 pm.

The foundation will also hold The Zumba Fitness Pink Party, a Latin-inspired dance fitness program, at 9 pm on the same day.

“The party is at the Marriot Zamalek hotel, during which we will dance the Zumba to Indian and oriental beats, in addition to Pilates – a fitness and muscle toning workout – as well as hold awareness sessions”, Zumba trainer Emilyn Lavender said.

September is international breast cancer awareness month.
