Egypt police arrest Brotherhood leader

CAIRO: Egyptian Security forces on Monday arrested the Freedom and Justice Party’s Mohamed Mekkawy, security source told Youm7.

 

Mohamed Mekkawy was arrested in 6th of October City, where he has been hiding in an apartment, the source added.

Mekkawy served as the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated FJP’s secretary in Warraq district in Giza. He was arrested under warrant issued by Warraq prosecution on charges of inciting fellow protestors to attack and torch the district’s police station following the dispersal of Muslim Brotherhood supporters’ sit-ins in Cairo and Giza on August 14.
